Your Host

This whole day’s events will be lead by your host, Valerie – that’s me!

I grew up in Alaska and have visited back many times since my family moved to the Lower 48. I’ve written some of the most popular resources on the internet about visiting Alaska, helping hundreds of thousands of people plan their Alaska trips for the past seven years through this blog.

I strive to provide the most accurate and helpful information possible about visiting Alaska, and this year I’ve decided that the Alaska Summer Travel Summit will help you know exactly what it will be like to visit Alaska this summer.

Still not sold? Have other questions? I’ve got you covered:

Q: Is it safe to visit Alaska this year?

A: After a tumultuous 2020, we believe that it is safe to visit Alaska this year – but you need to plan ahead and know what to expect. That’s what the Alaska Summer Travel Summit is all about!

Q: What do you think will be going on with the COVID-19 pandemic, testing requirements, and masks?

A: While there’s still a lot up in the air in terms of COVID policies and restrictions, the whole goal of this event is to give you the most up-to-date information about what you can expect when you arrive in Alaska. Each speaker will cover COVID mandates or updates at some point during their session.

Q: What if I already have my vaccine before my trip?

A: At this point, you should still expect to arrive in Alaska with a negative COVID-19 test and wear your mask in accordance with local rules and business practices (and in line with current CDC guidance).

Q: What are these prizes and giveaways you’re talking about?

A: We have some amazing prizes for this event!

First, our Grand Prize has been generously donated by Major Marine Tours. One lucky winner will receive a cruise for 2 plus an overnight stay at their brand new Gateway Hotel in Seward! We’ll give this away at the end of the day, and you don’t need to be present to win.

There are other “door” prizes we’ll give away throughout the day of the event. You do need to be present to win these prizes, or be a lifetime ticket holder.
