(& Cyber Monday too!)

Visiting Alaska is expensive. I hate to start on that note, but it’s just the truth. Every year when I update my guide to guessing how much your Alaska trip might cost, I’m bummed to see prices just going up, up, up.

That’s why it’s so important to highlight opportunities for you to save on your Alaska trip – and Black Friday/Cyber Monday weekend is one of the best chances for that. It’s that one weekend of the year where even the biggest companies usually offer a deal, and many smaller Alaskan businesses have goten in on the “fun” in the past few years too.

Alaska Black Friday Deals Hero

In the post below, I’ve tried to round up all of the Alaska Black Friday deals and Cyber Monday deals I can find currently. I’m a few days early, so some haven’t been announced yet, but I can tell you: updating this post will be the first thing I do on Friday morning after I wake up from my Thanksgiving dinner “coma.” (As an aside, any company that’s on this list that hasn’t published their deal yet and doesn’t offer a deal this year will be removed on Black Friday.)

Unlike most posts where I add lots of photos, I’m going to keep it simple this time: there are only a few photos just to catch your eye, and the best way to navigate is by using the table of contents below. Let’s dive in and save you some money!

Alaska Airlines Black Friday Deal

Alaska Black Friday Deals - Airfare

Arguably the most coveted Alaska Black Friday deal each year, Alaska Airlines typically does some sort of great offer to encourage travelers – including those with Alaska itself on their must-visit list.

As of this morning, Alaska Airlines announced a very lackluster Black Friday deal – especially if you were hoping to fly them to Alaska! Here are the details, but in short, it doesn’t apply to flights to/from Alaska at all.

However, they always have current cheap deals listed on this page; right now I’m seeing flights to Alaska as low as $137 one way, which is pretty good even if it’s not a Black Friday/Cyber Monday deal!

Alaska Black Friday Cruise Deals

Looking for a Black Friday deal on your Alaska cruise? You’ve got choices! Best of all, cruise companies typically announce their sales early and run them for a while, giving you plenty of time to plan and choose.

The bad news? It seems many mark up the “original price” of cruises so they can discount them down to what you can get on sale at other times of the year too. For example, I’m watching three different itineraries for next year, and all have been on sale at/around the same price in the past few weeks as they are now for Black Friday. Do your research!

Alaska Dream Cruises

Doing something different this year, Alaskan Dream Cruises is running a long window for their Black Friday/Cyber Monday deal and calling it the “Season of Gratitude” – I rather like that way of positioning it! In any case, here’s the deal: 10% off select sailings in May and June 2024, which you can see here along with the discount code.

If you’re not familiar with ADC, check out my review from sailing with them in 2021.

Carnival Cruises

I’ll be honest: Carnival Cruises’ Black Friday deal isn’t really clear: there’s no set discount or dollar amount they’re knocking off cruises to incentivize you to book now. They do have this page which lists a bunch of cruises to which the deal applies, but it’s hard to see how much you’ll save compared to regular prices.

Celebrity Cruises

Celebrity doesn’t have as much info on their site as some of the other major cruise lines, but they also announced their Black Friday deals early: up to 75% off your second guest and up to $600 off per stateroom (total), for select sailings. You can see all of the Alaska cruises to which this deal applies by clicking here.

Disney Cruise Line

As of publishing one week before Black Friday 2023, Disney has not announced any Black Friday deals. If that changes, I’ll come back and update this section.

Holland America Line

If you’ve done your research and know that HAL is the company you want to cruise to Alaska with, this is a great time to book: their Black Friday deal for 2023 offers 30% off all cruise only launch fares and prepaid crew appreciation. Click here to see the specific Alaska cruises to which this deal applies, and book by November 26th.

Hurtigruten

I’m the first to admit that sailing on one of Hurtigruten’s adventure itineraries – literally anywhere in the world – is pretty high on my bucket list. They just have really cool itineraries, including one that is marked as on sale for Black Friday (but all four of their Alaska itineraries are on sale right now). Click here to see the full list of itineraries they offer, and that they range from ~23-30% off!

Norwegian Cruise Line

I think Norwegian might be having the best Black Friday deal for Alaska cruises – they’ve really tacked on the freebies to try and win you over! The deal is 50% off all cruises (which really means select cruises) plus free airfare (when booked through them), free open bar, free specialty dining, free excursions, free wifi, and free 3rd & 4th guests.

That’s a big old bundle of goodies if you can find an Alaskan cruise itinerary with them that you want to book and which qualifies for the deal!

Princess Cruises

Princess has also announced their Black Friday deal nice and early; the offer is up to 50% off select cruises and 50% off your deposit. I’m seeing the lowest price at $297 for a 4-night cruise and some 7-night cruises in the $300s per person (interior stateroom starting price). Here’s the list of Alaska cruise itineraries and sailings you can get this deal on.

Royal Caribbean

Last but not least, Royal Caribbean rounds out the list of mega-ship Alaska cruise options offering Black Friday deals. This year, the deal is $700 off plus 30% off plus kids (5-18) sail free. It’s a solid deal with almost 100 Alaska cruise itineraries to choose from, which you can see here.

Uncruise

Y’all know I love Uncruise, so I’m excited to share their Black Friday deal… whenever they announce it! While it’s not yet available, here are the basic details of the Black Friday deal you can take advantage of this year: buy 3 berths get one free – meaning four people travel for the price of three! Plus, you’ll get a $500 gift certificate.

In the meantime, they’ve put together a fun 50% off code for their merch shop. (Check back here soon and I’ll add details once I know them.

Alaska Black Friday Sales on Hotels, Cars, etc.

In addition to airfare and cruises, the next most expensive part of planning your Alaska trip are accommodations and transport – usually that means car rentals. I haven’t historically seen discounts on services like the Alaska Railroad, the major car rental agencies, or the Park Connection bus, but here are some hotel and transport Black Friday deals I did find.

Booking.com

You may have noticed in the course of using my Alaska travel resources to plan your trip: I recommend using Booking.com a lot for hotels. This is because I generally find them to be the most affordable and offer the most options – and almost every hotel I recommend is available through that one platform, which makes it easier for you to keep track of all your bookings.

In any case, Booking.com has announced that they’re offering 30% off select hotels and bookings for Black Friday this year; get those Alaska hotels booked, people!!

Alaska Overlander

If you’re looking to rent a vehicle that can handle even the roughest Alaskan roads, Alaska Overlander is a good option – especially if you’re hoping to drive roads like Hatcher Pass, the McCarthy Road, the Denali Highway, or the Dalton Highway. For 2024, their deal has two parts: use code BLACKFRIDAY for both 10% off your rental and $200 credit for add-ons.

Alyeska Resort

Y’all know I’m not the biggest fan of the Alyeska Resort, but they are one of most popular options if you want to stay a night or longer in Girdwood, so I’m including them anyway to help you get a deal. This year, they’re offering 40% off room bookings between now and May 31, 2024. Here are the details if you want to investigate if the deal applies for your travel plans.

Denali Crow’s Nest Cabins

It’s not common for Denali-area hotels to offer a deal for Black Friday – frankly, they’re so popular that they don’t really need to! But this year, one has joined the fun: for 2024, Denali Crow’s Nest Cabins is offering 30% off for every stay of three nights or longer with code BF2023 (book by November 27th)

Pioneer Inn (Homer)

There are lots of great places to stay in Homer; if you’re planning a trip this winter, here’s a Black Friday deal for ya: get 25% off winter stays (now through March 1st) with code BLACKFRIDAY when booking.

Pursuit

Several of the properties I recommend are owned and operated by Pursuit, and I expect they’ll have a good Black Friday deal for some or all of them. Having stayed at several of their properties – Denali Backcountry Lodge, Seward Windsong Lodge, Talkeetna Alaskan Lodge, and Denali Cabins – I hope that whatever deal they offer will convince you to stay at some of them too. Stay tuned!

Note: As of November 24th (8:00am), I do not see any Black Friday deals for Pursuit.

Black Friday Deals for Alaska Companies

Once you’ve sorted flights and the basics of what you’ll do/where you’ll go in Alaska (Cruise? Land tour? Hotels and car rental? train? Lots of choices to make!), you’ll then want to arrange other activities. Here are the Black Friday deals I’ve found for various Alaskan tour companies and experiences.

Alaska Backcountry Adventures (Palmer)

Last year, Alaska Backcountry Adventures offered 20% off their tours if you booked on Black Friday itself; this year’s deal is the same: use code TURKEY23 to get 20% off any tour, including their ATV, Side by Side, Snowmobile, Glacier, and Wildlife Viewing Tours.

Alaska Bear Adventures (Homer)

Not sure about this year yet, but last year Alaska Bear Adventures offered a solid “Early Bird Special” around this time of year; this year, they’ve got another good deal: use code BlkFrdy10 to receive 10% off all bookings made between now and the end of the month. You can book directly on their website or request more information.

Alaska Helicopter Tours (Palmer)

If helicopter flightseeing is on your list for Alaska, this is the tour for you. Alaska Helicopter Tours anounced their BF/CM sale early: 20% off per person, up to three people, for any flightseeing tour. There are some terms and conditions and you need to call to book – and mention a discount phrase to get the deal – here’s the full scoop on their Facebook page.

Alyeska Nordic Spa (Girdwood)

I’ve been getting served ads for the Alyeska Resort’s Nordic Spa Black Friday deal, so I finally checked it out: this year, they’re offering a bonus $20 gift card for every $100 of gift cards you buy; this can be used to book your spa visit or for other amenities during your visit. Here are the details in full.

Also, they have historically run a discount for the Alyeska Resort itself too, so I’ll add that once I know more.

Denali Jeep Excursions (Denali)

If you’ve heard about the Denali Highway, understand the difference from the Denali Park Road, and don’t have a rental car that is allowed on the road want to explore it for yourself, Denali Jeep Excursions is the way to go. They’ve announced that their iconic Denali Highway Jeep Tour is 20% off with code THANKFUL23W; that’s a great deal for a really unique tour.

(If you’re curious what the Denali Highway looks like, I explored it on the not-currently-offered Denali Backcountry Adventure and my pictures in that review will give you a good idea.)

Denali Park Adventures (Denali)

Last year, Denali Park Adventures offered a ton of discounts for Black Friday/Cyber Monday, including things like 20% off their Denali ATV and Denali Highway Jeep Tours, $30 off ziplining, and 10%/$50/$60 off select flightseeing tours… There were a lot of discounts and options to choose from!

They haven’t announced the details for BF/CM 2023 yet, so keep an eye on their website or sign up for their mailing list if you’re planning any tours with them.

Note: As of November 24th, I do not see any Black Friday deals for Pursuit.

Denali Zipline Tours (Denali)

If the idea of ziplining in Talkeetna sounds fun to you, here’s another option! Denali Zipline Tours is the sister of Stoney Creek Canopy Adventure in Seward, and both companies are offering great deals for the 2024 season (the details of Stoney Creek’s deal are listed below!). For Denali, use code HOLIDAY for 25% off gift vouchers, and then use those to book your experience (now through December 1st).

Harbor Adventure Lodge (Kodiak)

If you’re headed out to Kodiak as part of your Alaska travel plans, you might want to check back to see if Harbor Adventure Lodge in Old Harbor announces a deal again this year. Last year, they offered $100 off per person on groups of four or more, which is a nice little chunk of change back to spend on another great experience or meal.

Note: As of November 24th (8:00am), I do not see any Black Friday deals for Pursuit.

Kenai Fjords Tours (Seward)

These next two are big tunas – they’re some of the most popular Alaska Black Friday tour deals out there and ones that are highly anticipated.

As previously mentioned, Pursuit (who also operates Kenai Fjords Tours) usually offers some sort of hotel discounts for their Alaska properties; they also offer a deal on their KFT tours for Black Friday/Cyber Monday. Just like last year, their deal is a whopping 40% off all 2024 tours when you use code CYBER40. All you have to do is book by December 1st.

Major Marine Tours (Seward)

While Major Marine has already announced a number of discounts for their 2024 season, I’m not seeing any Black Friday deals yet; last year they offered 30% of all cruises… and they’re doing the same this year! Here are the specifics: Get 30% off cruises for the entire 2024 season using code CYBER30 (online or over the phone..

As Major Marine is my favorite Kenai Fjords National Park cruise operator, I’m really excited that they’re offering this great deal again – you should definitely take advantage of it if you’re planning to visit next year!

Seward Ocean Excursions (Seward)

One of Seward’s only year-round operators, even small Seward Ocean Excursions got in the fun last year for Black Friday, offering 10% off all bookings made that weekend. This year’s deal hasn’t been announced yet (if there will be one), but I’ll come back to update this section once I hear more.

Note: As of November 24th (8:00am), I do not see any Black Friday deals for Pursuit.

Skagway Tours (Skagway)

If your Alaska travel plans will take you to Skagway, this deal might work well for you. Last year, Skagway Tours offered buy 2, get 1 free pricing on all their tours, which is great for families planning to visit. 2023 details are still not announced, but as with many others, I’ll be back to update this section ASAP.

Note: As of November 24th (8:00am), I do not see any Black Friday deals for Pursuit.

Snorkel Alaska (Ketchikan)

I’ll be honest: snorkeling in Alaska is really high on my personal Alaska bucket list; it just sounds like such an interesting experience, and I love the cold water ecosystem of starfish, kelp, and other cool critters. If you’ve got your heart set on doing this too, take advantage of the deal from Snorkel Alaska in Ketchikan: use code BLACK24 to get 20% off your 2024 booking (or gift cards!).

Stan Stephens Glacier & Wildlife Cruises (Valdez)

I’ve been fortunate to sail on Stan Stephens, and feel confident recommending them as a good option for glacier and wildlife cruises out of Valdez (though I personally prefer both Seward and Whittier more for those experiences). In any case, last year they offered 15% off all 2023 cruises; I hope we can expect something similar for 2024 and will add the details here as soon as I know what they are.

Note: As of November 24th (8:00am), I do not see any Black Friday deals for Pursuit.

Stoney Creek Canopy Adventure (Seward)

If ziplining in Denali sounded fun, be sure to add Stoney Creek to your list for Seward too – best of all, they typically offer a Black Friday deal as well. Last year it was 25% off all tours and gift vouchers; this year it’s the same! Use code HOLIDAY for 25% off gift vouchers purchased between now and December 1st; you can then use these to book the tour(s) you want to do!

Vivid Endeavors (Icy Strait Point)

While Icy Strait Point is primarily known for its cruise excursions, you can definitely do it your own way too – and here’s an incentive to spend your time whale watching while there. For Black Friday, they’re offering 20% off all 2024 bookings with code Holiday20.

Black Friday Deals on Products I Recommend for Alaska

Pack for Alaska Hero

Last but not least, there are some items I recommend packing for Alaska, and some of them are on sale for Black Friday too!

Manta Sleep Mask

I’m super bummed that the sleep mask I typically recommend on my Alaska packing list has gone out of production, but I was happy to find that Manta Sleep makes something similar. In years past, they’ve offered as much as 40% off; this year they’re offering something similar in discount tiers: spend $99, get 20% off. Spend $149, get 25% off. Spend $199, get 30% off.

Flytographer

I’ve also promoted Flytographer as a worthwhile investment to help immortalize your Alaska trip with professional photos (here’s my review); per usual, they’re doing a great Black Friday deal: 20% off your first Flytographer gift card*, purchased from November 22nd through November 24th, which can be used to book a shoot at any time in the future. Use my special link to make sure the deal applies!

*If you’re splurging and know you want to book a few shoots, you actually get 25% off if your gift card is worth $1000+! (I’ve definitely spent more than that myself, so…)

Unbound Merino

I also recommend Unbound Merino in several of my Alaska packing lists, as they work as a fantastic base layer in the winter and as regular layers in the summer (I was so sad to pack all my Unbound Merino clothes away as I got too big for them while pregnant with Baby V!). They’re doing a number of discounts for Black Friday, including up to 40% off sitewide, plus discount codes depending on how much you spend (CM10 for $10 off 100+, CM20 for $20 off 200+, etc.).

If you click here, it will activate the 40% off automatically, and they’ll have the discount codes published on the site during the sale window.

I’ll be sure to update with even more deals and details as I find them. Good luck finding the best Alaska Black Friday deals to help you save on your trip!
